iSCSI'den sonra networkte anormal yavaslik (Mail yazismalari)

Biraz uzun oldu ama kusura bakmayin.

Bu sabah kullanicilar anormal bir yavaslik rapor ettiler. Ping cektigimde normalde 1ms olan deger 435msden asagi inmiyordu. Login suresi 15-20 dakika aliyordu. iSCSI'nin switchlerinden benim routere gelen kablolari cikarinca hersey normale dondu. Dell'e durumu rapor ettim
 
 Asagidaki emaili aldim yapan engineer'dan. Yeniden eskiye dogru. Adam benden tum serverlera MDSM (Modular Disk Storage Manager)'i kurmami istiyor. Benim serverler deneme tahtasi degil. Bu yaptigi oneri sizce mantiklimi yani iSCSI management yazilimini host serverlerin hepsine kurmak!!? Adam sorunu bulmakta dogru iz ustundemi? Bana hicte oyle gelmiyor. Size danismak istedim zira baska bir teknisyen isteyecegim artik. 2 gundur burdaydi olmadi bir turlu bu is. Asagiya emailleri kopyaladim zira hic tatmin olmadim. Ne dersiniz?

This is a long shot, but could you install the MDSM software (on the disk that came with the array –is already installed on ICBHIVE) on VEGEMITE,KANGAROO,ICBES2010 and MEVLANA and let me know if that makes any difference. ***Please be aware that this will require a reboot so don’t do it unless you can reboot the servers.****

Hi Teoman

 

Just thinking that the port on the 5424 which is connected to the main switch may need to be put in the same VLAN that you are using for that ip subnet. I have not had any prior issues with connecting these switches, however VLAN configuration is not something we would perform unless instructed by Dell to do so.

The switch cables (blue) can be unplugged in the mean time as they are only used for connecting to the switch GUI and serve no other purpose.

 

It does not appear at this stage that there is much documentation for the version of iSCSI initiator used on 2008, as it is quite different from the older initiator that could be downloaded. I will keep looking to see if there is anything that would suggest why 2 of the servers are slow to connect/ reconnect to the array and the others seem fine.

 

The 19MB LUN is the access LUN for the array – remember it is a virtual LUN, so ignore it but don’t delete it
