WatchGuard is excited to announce the general release of Fireware XTM v11.5.1 and WatchGuard System Manager v11.5.1. You can install Fireware XTM OS v11.5.1 on any WatchGuard XTM device, including 2 Series, the new XTM 330, 5 Series, 8 Series, XTM 1050, and new XTM 2050 devices.

Here are the highlights of the full set of new features in Fireware XTM v11.5.1.

Introducing the New Log and Report Manager Web UI

The new Log and Report Manager Web UI replaces LogViewer, Report Manager, and the Reporting Web UI with a single easy-to-use, fast, web-based user interface. Look later in these release notes for more information. Other new log and reporting features include:

• Automated integration of WatchGuard Reports with ConnectWise - Register your XTM devices with a ConnectWise server and get automated Bandwidth, Intrusion, Filtered Sites, and Top Sites reports.


• Log Messages now stored with UTC timestamp - The time stamp for a log message stored in the Log Server database is now the time stamp from the log message itself, and not the time the log message arrived to the Log Server. To take advantage of this feature, you must upgrade your Log and Report Server to v11.5.1. See the sections "Log Server Upgrade Details" and "Report Server Upgrade Details" later in these release notes for important information about the upgrade to this feature.

New Features in Networking

• Mobile VPN with IPSec support for Apple® iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and Mac OS devices. For more information, see this help topic.


• Mobile VPN with SSL for Mac client with 64-bit support.


• Improved Dynamic Routing support - including support for dynamic routing in a FireCluster, configuration validation, and a "behind the scenes" update to Quagga open source dynamic routing package.


• Support for key IPv6 networking functions - With Fireware XTM v11.5.1, we've add support for the static configuration of IPv6 IP addresses on all XTM network interfaces, router advertisement for stateless address auto-configuration, and the ability to add static routes and DNS/WINS servers using IPv6 addresses. This release validates that the IPv6 networking capabilities function correctly; it does not provide firewall functionality for IPv6 traffic, but is the basis for IPv6 firewalling in subsequent releases. Future releases will expose more advanced IPv6 functionality including tunneling, DHCP, native IPv6 security functions, and other security services.

SMTP Proxy Enhanced for TLS encryption

The SMTP proxy can now enforce encrypted user authentication and end-to-end message body encryption.

New Features in Centralized Management

• You can now configure inheritance settings for authentication servers and authorized users and groups.


• New search functionality added to help you quickly find devices under management.

Clientless Single Sign-On

With Fireware XTM v11.5.1, you get improved Single Sign-On accuracy without the need to install SSO client software on all your computers. The Single Sign-On Agent package includes a new Event Log Monitor tool, which, when installed on a domain controller for each domain, pulls correct user credentials for all users who log in to any of your domains.
