As a workaroud edit the registry to disable the power down of the AHCI controller during the shutdown process.
Warning: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. The registry values provided in this article are vendor and device specific and do not apply to other brands or models of AHCI controllers.
To resolve the problem, edit the registry to disable the power down of the AHCI controller during the shutdown process.
1. Start Registry Editor by running regedit.exe
2. Locate and then select the following subkey in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PCI\Parameters
3. Create a new REG_BINARY value.
For Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series SATA AHCI Controller - 8C02:
REG_BINARY value name: 80868c02
Hexadecimal value data: 00,00,00,40,00,00,00,00
For Intel(R) 8 Series SATA AHCI Controller - 8C03:
REG_BINARY value name:80868c03
Hexadecimal value data: 00,00,00,40,00,00,00,00
4.Exit Registry Editor.
